1. Clean the ring with dishwashing water

Simply fill a small bowl with hot water, mix in 1-2 drops of dishwashing water, and place the ring in the bowl for 5 minutes. After completion, rinse the ring with clean water. If there is residual dirt on the ring, repeat the above steps until the ring is completely cleaned. Finally, to avoid water accumulation, dry the ring with a soft towel.

2. Clean the ring with baking soda

Mix a portion of baking soda and water in a small bowl. Scrub the ring with a soft toothbrush dipped in baking soda solution, taking care not to scratch the metal. If there is residual dirt on the ring, repeat the above steps until the ring is completely cleaned. Please rinse the ring with cold water and finally dry it with a lint-free cloth.

3. Ask the jeweler to clean the diamond ring

When you have to clean a ring set with precious stones, the best advice is to hand over the work to a professional. Your jeweler has the tools to view jewelry using special equipment and can even discover any potential problems. If you decide to clean the diamond ring at home, you may damage its appearance or lose some gems. Jewelers have the tools and expertise to complete the work without risk. After all, their service comes with insurance, which protects your precious ring.

4. Matters needing attention

When cleaning engagement rings, do not use any abrasive substances, including toothpaste, bleach, baking soda, window cleaners, etc., which are harmful to the diamond. You might think that ultrasonic jewelry equipment is a foolproof solution for cleaning engagement rings at home, but tiny vibrations can sometimes loosen gemstones and it is recommended not to take risks.

Handle with care. It is very important to take care of the engagement ring and consider it as an investment. When performing this operation, please avoid wearing it, otherwise the prongs or inlays of the wedding ring may be damaged. Prevention is the best measure. If in doubt, remove the ring before a task or activity involving chemicals, tools, or equipment that may bend, shatter, or otherwise damage the ring.

Be careful in the kitchen. When working in the kitchen, many things can happen to the ring. Food particles may be sandwiched between delicate stones and inlays, which may be difficult to remove, and sometimes even impossible to remove. Dishwashing liquid can cause your ring to slip off your smooth fingers and drain into the sewer or into a garbage disposal site.

Avoid oil, grease and heavy lotion. Platinum, white gold or silver diamond engagement rings may discolor easily due to accumulation. Before using heavy lotion, oil or grease, please take off the ring to avoid accumulation of residue on the ring and dull or dull surface.

Clean your ring as often as necessary to keep it in top condition. Take care of your engagement ring, and you can always enjoy its shining light.
